BIO

Although being close mates and musicians since their early school days, Tom and Nick never quite made it into the same band together.  Nick moved to Brighton and there he met Jono, then Jono moved back to London and met Tom.  In 2024, they got together to play around with some of Tom’s ideas and that was the start of The Taut.

With Brighton now a sacred home-from-home for both writing and recording, The Taut base themselves in London.  They have emerged as an authentic indie rock’n’roll outfit who deliver a live and rowdy guitar sound, complimenting attentive and articulate songwriting.

Despite Tom taking on the bulk of the songwriting responsibility, it’s the trio being together in a room on Fleet Street that brings it all together and completes the songs.  The band put a big emphasis on the process, with it being equally important as the finished product on stage and in the studio.  Now that finished product is being recorded, released and performed at venues across London.

​

As one drunken punter put it outside The Dublin Castle, Camden on the night of their first gig, “The Taut by name. Tight by nature”.
